TTSH Physiotherapy Day 2016
We've Got Your Back!

World Physical Therapy (also known as Physiotherapy) Day is on 8th September.
The day is an opportunity for Physiotherapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution the profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent!
What is World Physiotherapy Day?
Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s (TTSH) Physiotherapy Department celebrates Physiotherapy Day annually. In line with the World Confederation for Physical Therapy’s (WCPT) overarching theme of “Movement for Health”, we actively engage patients and public to increase awareness about the important role of physiotherapists in “keeping people well, mobile and independent”.
In the past 5 years, TTSH Physiotherapy Day has reached out to at least 2000 individuals, organised multiple public talks, educational sessions in small-group community programmes and public forums.

The hospital's Physiotherapy Day theme for 2016 is “We’ve Got Your Back!”, focusing on Physiotherapy prevention and management of low back pain, with a special focus on TTSH staff who work hard to provide caregiving services for our patients here - our dedicated nurses, and Patient Service Associates (PSA). Both of these groups have occupations that are at a higher risk of sustaining injuries to the lower back.
